Illes Balears Film Commission

Commercial ports run by the Balearic Port Authority: Palma, Alcudía, Mahón, Ibiza and la Sabina in Formentera.
If filming is going to take several days, with a lot of people and technical equipment, it is a good idea to give a minimum of 15 days notice when requesting permission to film in the ports run by the Balearic Port Authority, for operational reasons, the BPA needs to have detailed knowledge or the dates and areas affected.
For smaller productions or photographic reports, three working days notice are sufficient. Requests should be sent to the President of the Balearic Port Authority, submitted in writing and outlining very clearly what is going to be done, what areas will be filmed or photographed, the dates and times, and the technical equipment, number of people and vehicles required to carry out the task etc. The Balearic Port Authority will make a charge that varies depending on the type of production, the days spent filming and the area occupied. In order for the permit to be granted, it is necessary to submit a list of full names, ID or passport numbers and nationality of everybody involved in filming in the port, as well as the registration numbers of the production's vehicles.
Requests can be submitted in writing at the offices of the Balearic Port Authority in Palma, where they will be stamped and registered as received, or by fax and Email.
